Frances Elmer-James Physiotherapist

Frances Elmer James has over 35 years of experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. During this time she has worked closely with lymphoedema therapists and breast care nurses in Tasmania, and developed a special interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation following oncology treatment for breast cancer.

Frances asserts that pain and/or restricted movement should not be considered normal complications or side-effects of breast cancer surgery or other treatments, including radiotherapy. Frances has, therefore, been instrumental in advocating for the establishment of effective management pathways within the Tasmanian healthcare system.

Frances has helped many women, and men, regain flexibility and confidence. Her approach aims to be practical and uncomplicated. Above all, Frances aims to empower patients by helping them understand how they can best help themselves to better health.
